When our group arrived in Fort Wayne, it was overwhelmed by the welcome from the community. From the beginning, we were amazed with the unprecedented level of attention and customer service provided. The many ideas that were implemented, big and small, made our members feel valued and special. Grand Wayne Center is a stunning work of architecture with easy access to hotels, restaurants and entertainment. Our members were impressed with how clean, modern, entertaining and friendly Fort Wayne proved to be. The downtown is very walkable, and we loved the variety of restaurants. Fort Wayne was not on the radar for some of our members when we announced where we were holding the championship, but the top-flight facilities and personnel resulted in rave reviews in post-tournament feedback. Thanks to everyone who helped make the 2016 North American Scrabble Championship the best event we’ve ever held. Many of our members expressed interest in returning to Fort Wayne!
