FORT WAYNE, IN — The Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE) celebrated its 17thannual STAR Awards on December 6, 2018, in Indianapolis, by recognizing association professionals and suppliers who have exemplified ISAE’s core values of professional development and success. Among this year’s winners, ISAE awarded Marcy McKinley, director of sales and marketing at Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with the coveted Individual Supplier of the Year Award. The Center won ISAE’s Supplier Company of the Year Award in 2014.

ISAE’s STAR Awards — an acronym for Society’s Top Association Recognition — was the first awards program in Indiana dedicated to recognizing association managers and vendors for their contributions to the industry’s career and leadership development, education, and event management skills within the meetings and events industry. Awards are presented in two broad categories:  [1] Awards of Excellence for member organizations demonstrating exceptional programs or events as a whole or within distinct event elements (technology, marketing, philanthropy, etc.); and [2] Individual Awards for those persons who have shown outstanding achievement within the year.

The awards program serves as a charitable fundraiser for a chosen nonprofit organization. This year’s STAR Awards program benefitted the Indiana Canine Assistance Network (ICAN), raising $5,000 to help ICAN in training service dogs for those in need.
