Fall Fun Near Grand Wayne Convention Center

As the weather cools down and the days get shorter, you may be searching for some seasonal activities to get you into the fall spirit. While you're visiting Downtown Fort Wayne for a convention, conference, or other events, you can enjoy the local festivities.

What to Do

Take a walk around the city! We recommend heading to The Landing, which is the oldest part of Downtown Fort Wayne. The Landing is just a few minutes from Grand Wayne Convention Center and it's full of shops and restaurants to visit. You can also walk around Parkview Field, which is our local single-A baseball stadium. Parkview Field is right across the street and it's a great way to get some easy, accessible exercise on a brisk fall afternoon.

Breakaway from the chilly temperatures and head to Botanical Gardens – an indoor garden conservatory with seasonal displays and a wide range of plants and foliage. While Botanical Gardens is across the street from Grand Wayne Convention Center, you can access the conservatory without ever stepping outside. Avoid the colder weather by heading through the Embassy Skywalk.

If you're looking for shopping, check out our local options! You'll find plenty of opportunities within walking distance of Grand Wayne Convention Center. Explore House to Home for some cute decor and home goods. The Find is the perfect place to shop for a variety of goods. From clothing, accessories, beauty products, and home decor – you're sure to find something you'll want to take home! When you visit Botanical Gardens, be sure to check out their store! Also, pick up some local Fort Wayne goodies by popping over to the Visit Fort Wayne Gift Shop.

What to Eat

There are plenty of seasonal treats to sample in Downtown Fort Wayne! If you're walking around The Landing, head to Utopian Coffee and taste some of their fall-flavored beverages. If you're looking for a dessert, head to Hoppy Gnome to make tabletop s'mores or pop into DeBrand's Fine Chocolates for one of their famous caramel apples. Swing by Fortezza Coffee for an excellent cup of joe!

Walk over to Main Street for some classic coney dogs from Coney Island – a Fort Wayne icon serving downtown diners since 1914. Finish up your meal by heading next door to Sweets on Main for some amazing ice cream.

If you're looking for a dinner option, try Nawa, Tolon, Proximo, JK O'Donnell's, Dash In, Big Apple Pizza, The Landing Beer Co. and many more opening soon!
